Bahaal Foundation is a non-profit organisation working to restore dignity, independence, and opportunity for persons with spinal cord injuries (SCI). We focus on holistic recovery, emotional well-being, livelihood pathways, and advocacy so people with disabilities can lead empowered and fulfilling lives.
Our work bridges the gap between hospital discharge and full community reintegration. Through rehabilitation support, psychosocial care, peer support, and awareness initiatives, Bahaal Foundation enables individuals with SCI to rebuild their lives with confidence and dignity.
Job Summary
The Content Creator will be responsible for developing engaging and meaningful content that communicates the work, impact, and mission of Bahaal Foundation. The role involves creating digital content, storytelling, documentation, and supporting communication efforts across social media, website, and outreach materials.
The Content Creator will work closely with the team to document programmes, share beneficiary stories, raise awareness about spinal cord injury and disability inclusion, and strengthen the organisation’s online presence.
This role is ideal for someone passionate about storytelling, social impact, and using media and communication to create awareness and engagement.
Key Roles and Responsibilities
- Create and manage content for Bahaal Foundation’s social media platforms, website, and communication channels
- Develop engaging posts, graphics, short videos, and stories highlighting programme activities and impact
- Document events, workshops, and community activities through photos, videos, and written content
- Write blog posts, articles, captions, newsletters, and awareness materials related to spinal cord injury and disability inclusion
- Work with the team to collect stories, testimonials, and experiences from beneficiaries and volunteers
- Assist in developing communication materials such as brochures, reports, and presentations
- Ensure consistency in messaging, tone, and visual identity across platforms
- Support campaigns and awareness initiatives through creative storytelling and content planning
- Maintain a content calendar and ensure regular posting and engagement
- Coordinate with the team to ensure content reflects the organisation’s values and works accurately
Required Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Communication, Journalism, Media Studies, Social Work, or related fields (or relevant experience)
- 0–2 years of experience in content creation, digital media, communications, or related roles (freshers with strong portfolios may apply)
- Interest in social impact, disability inclusion, and community development
- Strong writing, storytelling, and communication skills
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks
- Good organisational and time management skills
- Sensitivity to disability and inclusive communication
Technical Skills
- Photography and videography skills for documenting programmes, events, and community activities
- Ability to shoot short videos, reels, and interviews for social media and storytelling
- Video editing skills using tools such as CapCut, Adobe Premiere Pro, or similar software
- Basic graphic design skills using Canva, Adobe Illustrator, or similar tools
- Ability to create engaging social media content (posts, reels, stories, carousels)
- Familiarity with social media platforms such as Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, and YouTube
- Basic knowledge of content planning and social media scheduling tools
Language Requirements
- Proficiency in English
- Working knowledge of Kannada, Tulu, or Hindi is an advantage
